This tapestry is not only a rare addition to my tapestry collection because of its religious theme - but only because of its vivid, absolulety striking colors! I LOVE the vibrant blue–red opposition that's going on here: it requires full attention once displayed on a wall.

Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper (Cenacolo Vinciano) is one of the world's most emotional and cherished masterpieces, and bringing that magnificent energy into a room via warm, heavy textile is an absolutely brilliant interior design secret!

If you have a grand dining room table, a wide classic sofa, or a beautiful teak wooden buffet, this monumental wall hanging is exactly what you need for that blank space above it (stretching an impressive 166 cm / 65" wide). The incredibly vivid cobalt blues, warm caramel browns, and brilliant reds practically glow when the sunlight hits them, very much reminding me of stained glass in a quiet cathedral.

Created in the 1960s, it was crafted from a remarkable material known as "moquette." The beautiful front side is soft, deeply rich, and beautifully shiny like vintage velvet! It perfectly adds color, architectural presence, and warm acoustic softening to your grandest room.

Da Vinci's The Last Supper is an absolute dream focal point for religious, historic, and grand dining spaces!

The Fabric:
Luxuriously soft "moquette" velvet-like piles on the front side, built securely upon a very coarse, tight-woven durable backing. Finished delightfully with lovely 2-inch yarn fringes decorating both side edges!

Condition

Highly preserved, very good vintage condition. It is odor-free and bursting with color! (Note: There is a very faint grayish vertical line within the left side of the white tablecloth. Whether it is an age mark or an original 60s weaving flaw, I love total transparency so you know exactly what charming 60-year-old history you are getting!)
