This vintage handwoven tapestry acts as a magical window into a rural mid-century European fairy tale! Featuring a geometric storybook village—complete with a sweet church, tiny houses, flowerbeds, and classic wood fences—it shines in gorgeously vivid shades of forest green, nostalgic red, sunny yellow, and warm beige.

This piece was created in the 1970s by the famous Mezőtúr Weaving Cooperative, a thriving community of around 500 Hungarian women working largely on their home looms. You aren't just buying wall art; you are buying the spirit of a genuine vintage community! The beautiful motif is attributed to an acclaimed industrial artist named János Kordováner. You will never find a signature on this masterpiece because János was a wonderfully humble man. He refused to brand his work, insisting that the women who tirelessly wove the rugs thread-by-thread deserved just as much credit as his own paintbrush! 

Complete with lovely, thick hand-knotted macrame fringes at the bottom, this piece creates ultimate cozy cottagecore warmth. It is a fantastic textural focal point above a rustic countryside sofa, hanging playfully in a vintage-inspired woodland nursery, or anchoring a boho-eclectic reading nook.

Materials: 
100% thick wool weft woven tightly over a durable cotton warp. Finished with meticulously hand-knotted long macrame fringes.

Hanging: 
Four small metal rings are securely hand-sewn to the top hem, ready for instant and easy hanging! (Please note: Bamboo rod and curtain clips in staging photos are not included).

Condition

Excellent vintage condition! Highly preserved with consistent, incredibly vivid colors and no fading. The textile is structurally perfect, clean, and completely odor-free. The flatweave body is flawless, and the soft fringes show only very light, normal greyish discoloration from a previous gentle life.
