As a vintage textile hunter, I have seen many retro curtains over the years – but I rarely said "wow" out loud... The pattern of this pair is so bold, the colors are so juicy, and the fabric is still in such good shape after 60 years. It's one of those pieces that changes the whole mood of a room in one minute.

This is an original 1960s curtain pair with a big geometric design of rounded rectangles in glowing orange, sunny yellow, deep chocolate brown and creamy white. It's the typical space age style that later became the icon of the 70s – playful, graphic and full of energy. The fabric is a lightweight, semi-sheer textile, most likely cotton, with a lovely slub weave texture you can see and feel.

The real magic happens when the sun is shining through: the orange parts start to glow like a warm lamp, and the whole room gets a cozy golden light. In the evening, with the lamps on, the rich brown gives a warm and relaxed retro feeling.
